Well dang, lots to read here :) As you said: "I’ve spent perhaps the last ten years struggling and straining to become something." I understand a bit, I've tried to be something for the last 35 years... And I'm definitely "something" lol! It's easy to forget all the things we have accomplished or those we've helped over the years. You've helped and inspired many folks on your journey!!! On a side note: over the past month I've thought a lot about the phrase "Supposed to" and all of it's derivatives. They all suck! Congrats on 10 years and wishing the best for you and your family \m/
I think you just defined the difference between Americans and Australians (from an Australian’s perspective). America seems to want to put everything in boxes and make rules and fill life with goals and ‘should’s. Australia’s philosophy is much more ‘Be Here Now’. Life seems so much more relaxed here, so much more fun.

Haha, so true! We are such a culture of strivers and work-a-holics. Australia sounds amazing! We have a Studiomate from Australia and she always makes me want to move there too (except when she talks about the giant venomous creatures). Maybe one day I'll make it there! Although, like Japan, I'm a bit afraid that if I go I'll never want to leave! :)
