Might Could Beta Books is Live!
Access the Resources, Duplicate the Template, and Start Making Your Book!
It’s live, it’s live! I finally finished the Might Could Beta Books initiative!
It took me much longer than expected, but I have a good reason—it is WAY better than I expected. I’m calling it an initiative now because it’s really much more than a template. Might Could Beta Books now holds literally everything I know about making a picture book and it will take you (and me!) step-by-step through the entire book-making process.
Above, you can see the homepage, where everything is housed and new updates will be announced. If you click on My Book Project, you’ll see this:
This is YOUR My Book Project page! This is the page you will duplicate and use as your personal guide and template throughout the book-making process. (P.S. I’m going to be using this template for my jellyfish book too!)
The full process is broken down into 20 steps, each with its own resources and templates, for both the traditional and self-publishing paths.
Each stage opens up into its own page with instructions to follow. Once complete, you can mark the stage as Done and move on to the next one! For example, here is stage 1. Discover Your Spark:
Each stage comes linked with its own Resources that give you more in-depth information and instructions for that topic. And some stages have templates for you to fill in as well.
For example, stage 8. Storyboard Your Book has storyboard templates for you to download and two Resources on storyboarding to show you exactly how to storyboard your own book and learn about the different types of illustrations used in picture books.
And finally, you can access all the resources in one place from the homepage. The resources are housed on the web and are not duplicated in your account, so they will always remain updated for you if I add or edit anything new.
The Book Project page that you duplicate remains your personal, private space to work in and can only be accessed by you.
Well, I think that about covers everything about the Might Could Beta Books initiative! I’m so thrilled with how this all came together and am super excited to use it myself for my jellyfish book, now that it’s done!
